Although you once had goals, it feels like you settled for less. Those goals relate to having a rewarding career, establishing meaningful relationships, or finding a way to feel satisfied with where you are in life.

Sure, it is great to have goals, but you wonder, “How do I accomplish those goals?” This is a valid question because, at this point, your goals are only dreams without an action plan.

Others are disappointed.

Trying to have a social life while managing other responsibilities in life is challenging.

You feel exhausted and fatigued trying to keep it all together. Friends and family voice their disappointment in you for “not showing up” when the last thing you want to do is disappoint others.

Life should not be this difficult. While others seem to have their act together, you feel overwhelmed and wonder why everything is so difficult for you.

Feeling shame makes it hard to move forward.

Finances and the inability to make meaningful life decisions keep you stressed.

It is like you are carrying the world’s stress on your shoulders, overwhelming you.

Others seem capable of balancing challenges, but you seem unable to keep things together.

A repeating thought keeps circling in your head– “Where do I start?”

Failure best describes how you feel.

No matter how hard you try, it does not seem enough.

Managing it all is not easy. You work hard to meet the challenges and put all your time and energy into your work with little or no recognition from leadership. Instead, all you feel is more pressure and responsibility.

Those working with you recognize only your faults or mistakes, not everything you do to ensure everything is in order.

To say the least, work is not rewarding.

Individual therapy can be a tremendous asset in helping you learn distress tolerance and emotion regulation skills to be able to manage life stressors and overwhelming feelings and find that balance you have been desperately seeking.

Through individual therapy, you will interact one-on-one with an unbiased third party with training and experience. There is no judgment here. The overreaching goal is to help you find ways to navigate the challenges you face.

As your therapist, I can help you understand your thoughts (conscious and subconsciously) and make deeper connections to your feelings, leading to more self-compassion and patience with yourself as you move in the right direction.
